Michael February has been a part of the Waves for Change family and an ambassador for the programme for two years. As one of South Africa’s top surfers, he has had the privilege to witness the incredible impact both surfing and the organisation has had on the lives of troubled youth in South Africa. This book is his brainchild. It’s a labour of love. It’s a project that would not have been possible without his vision, as well as the incredible images contributed by all the talented photographers involved. These photographers are men and women who spend countless hours behind the lens, travelling up and down coastlines and across the world, looking to capture those special images that truly define stoke. They give us the means to dream and moments to aspire to when we can’t be in the ocean. This book is filled with moments like these and includes work from some of the best sharpshooters in South Africa. Their amazing work and the Waves For Change programme are organically connected in their mutual love of the ocean, as well as the positive impact they have in influencing our lives. All the proceeds from “For the Love” will go towards the Waves For Change programme, but please note that is far more than a fundraising initiative. Our aim is to raise awareness nationally and internationally in the hope that it will encourage more people around the globe to implement similar programmes and, ultimately, help spread change through the power of riding waves. Please help us make this dream a reality by pre-ordering your very own copy of “For the Love.”
